Description
Protea compacta is a plant in the Proteaceae family whose habitat ranges from the seashore to 100 m altitude from Kleinmond to Bredasdorp Mountains in the South-West Cape region of South Africa. It reaches heights of 2 to 3.50 m in the wild and is not very wide. Its lifespan is estimated at around ten years. It flowers in winter. Some plants have pink inflorescences, like ours, while others are white.
