Salvia regla is a deciduous perennial native to the Chisos Mountains in Texas (USA), but also to the states of Coahuila, Durango, Hidalgo and Oaxaca. It is 1 to 2 metres high and 1.50 metres wide. It blooms from August until frost. The flowers are red and elongated tubular. It needs well-drained, rich soil. It can be grown in sun or semi-shade. It likes water in summer but tolerates drought and heat. We grow it in semi-shade with Fuchsia, watering in summer.
