Ferocactus schwarzii is a barrel cactus (family Cactaceae) from the Mexican state of Sinaloa. It eventually reaches a height of 80 cm and a diameter of 50 cm, but flowers from a diameter of 12 cm. The plant has 4-5 prickles (or spines) when young, but only one or two when older, yellow in color. When old, it looks like an Echinocactus, but the flowers and fruit classify it as a Ferocactus. We have 3 plants planted in the greenhouse in 2013.
