Protea repens is a South African shrub in the Proteaceae family that can reach 4.50 m in height. Its habitat extends from sea level to 1500 meters altitude in the Cape region and as far as Grahamstown. Flower color is therefore variable. In our region, it blooms in autumn. This species was South Africa's unofficial national flower until 1976.
