Synonyms: Geranium quercifolium, Geraniospermum quercifolium, Pelargonium karrooense Family: Geraniaceae Origin: South Africa, d’Oudtshoorn and Willowmore regions Common name: geranium, oakleaf pelargonium Hardiness: -7°C IUCN Red List: LC, Least Concern Pelargonium quercifolium is a shrub about 1.50 m long and 0.70 m wide when grown in good conditions. The leaves are sticky and fragrant. The flowers are pink with darker macules appearing in spring and summer. In South Africa, it grows in small areas around Oudtshoorn and Willowmore at altitudes of between 400 m and 1000 m, with low rainfall throughout the year in rocky areas of sandstone, shale and limestone.
