Fascicularia bicolor is a Chilean epiphytic terrestrial plant of the pineapple family (Bromeliaceae). It grows on rocky areas in the mountains. It grows slowly, forming a clump a few meters wide over twenty years or so. Evergreen foliage. The leaves are edged with prickles. Flowering takes place in autumn in Brittany: the leaves turn red before blooming and the three-petaled flowers are light blue.
