Puya mirabilis is a rosette-forming plant that grows on rocks. The leaves are narrow, about 50 cm long and edged with spines. The inflorescence reaches a meter or more in height, with pale green flowers. Rosettes that have flowered die and are replaced by others. This specimen (pictured) comes from Bolivia, Tarija department, Aniceto Arce province, Cañas municipality at 2200 m altitude. Its harvest (seed) number is RH1041e.
