Banksia spinulosa is a shrub of the Proteaceae family native to Australia. It is between 1 and 3 metres high and as wide. Its foliage is evergreen. Flowering takes place in autumn-winter and early spring. Its inflorescences are 10 to 20 cm high, with variations of brown, red, gold and orange. It needs light to medium-heavy soils with good drainage and humidity. It is pollinated by bees and hornets. Our specimen comes from the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle and was planted in 1996.
