Amicia zygomeris is a shrub in the Fabaceae or legume family of Mexican origin. Only its stump is woody. Its stems can reach 1.50 to 2 metres in height. Its leaves close at night. Yellow flowers appear in autumn, followed by fruit. The roots are tuberous. The soil must be cool but well drained. Beware: snails and slugs love it. It is best to mulch the base to keep the soil cool.
