Description
Protea scolymocephala forms a small bush 0.50 to 1.50 meters high. The inflorescences are smaller (35-45 mm in diameter) than those of other protae. In its native country, it grows on the sandy plains of the west coast between the seashore and 400 meters above sea level. Here, it blooms in spring. It is almost extinct in its habitat due to urbanization and the introduction of acacias.
