Ochagavia carnea is a Chilean epiphytic plant of the pineapple family (Bromeliaceae). It grows slowly, forming a clump one or two meters wide within a few years. Foliage is evergreen. The leaves are edged with prickles. In our garden, it grows on the ground or in a rock hollow. It blooms in summer in Brittany: the flowers are pink. It needs well-drained, stony soil or a rock crevice. In pots, water in summer if you want to see it bloom quickly.
