Synonyms: none Family: Melianthaceae Origin: South Africa, Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga Common name: greyia, mountain bottlebrush Hardiness: -4°C to -1°C. IUCN Red List: LC Greyia sutherlandii is a deciduous shrub that can reach heights of 3 to 7 meters in its habitat. We bought it from Dino Pellizaro in 1994 and planted it in 1995. We have two specimens, the taller of which probably reaches 3 meters in height and spreads well. This species is native to the slopes and ridges of the Drakensberg up to an altitude of 1,800 meters.
