Family: Aloaceae, Xanthorrhoeaceae, Asphodelaceae Origin: South Africa Common name: climbing aloe, ciliated aloe Hardiness: zone 9-11 (around -4°C) Aloe ciliaris is a semi-climbing aloe that relies on its surroundings to climb or crawls along the ground. It has evergreen foliage and flowers from November to early spring. The leaves sheath the stem and this sheath is ciliated, hence its name. We grow it either in greenhouses or near rocky ground where there is no frost. Stems can reach 1.50 m in length.
