Common name: false osmundus Hardiness: -5°C -6°C IUCN Red List: LC The species was described by Thunberg from a specimen growing on Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa, hence its name. Fertile fronds are differentiated and appear in the center of the clump. Over time, the plant develops a small stipe. It could be threatened by the harvesting of old plants with stipes.
