Ochagavia carnea is a Chilean epiphytic plant in the pineapple family (Bromeliaceae). It grows slowly, forming a clump one or two meters wide within a few years. Evergreen foliage. The leaves are edged with prickles. In our garden, it grows on the ground or in a rock hollow. The flowers bloom in summer in Brittany and are pink. It needs well-drained, stony soil or a rock fault. In pots, water in summer if you want to see it flower quickly.
