Clivia caulescens is a bulbous member of the Amaryllidaceae family native to South Africa. The foliage is evergreen and the 50 cm to one-metre-high splayed clump produces offshoots. Flowering takes place from late spring to late summer. We grow it in undergrowth, but it can also be planted in partial shade. It needs well-drained, cool soil. We bought seeds from SilverHill in South Africa in 2009 and the plant was planted in 2011, where it is today.
